June 2016, Miami – SBC PureConsult has this week completed an initial proof of concept to deploy Micros Opera PMS on the Citrix XenApp 7.8 and Windows 2012 R2 platform. In keeping with other successful projects that have been completed by the consultancy, the initial efforts were centred around application launch performance, optimisation of application object caching and printing solutions for remote properties.
The initial positive results obtained using the latest Citrix and Microsoft 64-bit only releases will be assessed for further deployment to properties located throughout the region. The bespoke application delivery solution implements several Citrix XenApp application virtualisation features in order to deliver the benefits of printer driver elimination, compressed print jobs over wide-area networks, simple user profile management and anywhere anytime access to Opera without installation of application components.
