June 2016, Miami – SBC PureConsult has this week completed an initial proof of concept to deploy Micros Opera PMS on the Citrix XenApp 7.8 and Windows 2012 R2 platform. In keeping with other successful projects that have been completed by the consultancy, the initial efforts were centred around application launch performance, optimisation of application object caching and printing solutions for remote properties. The initial positive results obtained using the latest Citrix and Microsoft 64-bit only releases will be assessed for further deployment to properties located throughout the region. The bespoke application delivery solution implements several Citrix XenApp application virtualisation features in order to deliver the benefits of printer driver elimination, compressed print jobs over wide-area networks, simple user profile management and anywhere anytime access to Opera without installation of application components.
Swire Hotels leads with cloud based approach to delivering Opera – August 2010, Bristol.
Swire Hotels UK, part of the Hong Kong based Swire Properties group has successfully completed a project to deploy Micros Fidelio’s Opera V5 product upon a private cloud platform (with Citrix XenApp 6) to all four of their UK based properties. Steve Walker of SBC PureConsult worked with the IT staff of Swire Properties to design and implement a data centre hosted virtualisation platform running VMware vSphere ESXi4, in order to concentrate all database and presentation functions within a secure and resilient centralised cloud platform.
The project used a variety of client devices including Wyse C10LE terminals to deliver Opera throughout the properties, without needing to manually install any part of the PMS system locally.

Radisson Edwardian Hotels deploy ZyLab’s ZyImage Suite – November 2002, London.
Radisson Edwardian’s ground breaking document Imaging project has reached completion with the rollout of ZyImage to all 12 London hotel properties. The completion of the Zylab document imaging solution for Radisson Edwardian has delivered a considerable competitive advantage to the organisation and realises a long term goal of achieving instantaneous retrieval of customer documentation covering the entire stay from reservation to checkout.
In just over a year, the project has captured more than 210,000 individual guest stay documents in an online searchable archive. Within hours of a guest checkout, all documentation relating to a guest stay is stored and made available within the Zylab ZyImage system.
One of the key challenges of this project was the inclusion of barcodes on Micros Fidelio’s PMS folios, aiding document retrieval. For more information on barcodes within Fidelio folios and the wider benefits and structure of electronic document management throughout the Edwardian organisation please email us firstname.lastname@example.org.
